Understanding our rules and reffing systems are important factors in ensuring maximum fun and safety while engaging in our sport. We are constantly working to improve on our Rules and Referee manuals to make concepts clearer to understand and more straightforward. Which is what leads to the 2023 updates to our exams and manuals.

We have a new Rules manual and exam, as well as a new Head referee manual and exam to replace the 2022 quiz. We ask that all captains and officers pass with a 90% on these exams and that anyone interested in being a referee pass with 95%. We encourage all Lightspeed fencers to check out these manuals and exams, as they will improve your fencing and safety within our sport!

If you have already passed the 2022 Rules exam there is no need to take it again, but we ask that everyone take the Head Referee exam again. The Head Ref manual is significantly streamlined from the 2022 iteration so it is worth taking the time to review it.
