After receiving some feedback from our staff, a critical change will be made to our ladder ranking system.
Effective immediately, whenever a fencer moves up a grade, their tournament point tally for the year will be reset to zero. The practical effect of this is that the promoted fencer will start at the bottom of the tranche for that grade. This prevents newly promoted fencers with high tournaments points from shooting to the top of the grade and out-ranking those who achieved the grade earlier, but may not have competed as often.
This change will not affect fencers who degrade; their tournament point tally will remain the same.
